A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess a <br /> bachelor's degree and one years of recreation, event planning and/or community services <br /> experiences. <br /> Required Licenses or Certificates: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class C California <br /> Driver's License. Possession of or ability to obtain the following certifications may be required <br /> depending on assignment: CPR for the Professional Rescuer,Automatic External Defibrillator, <br /> Personal Emergency Preparedness (PEP), and Community Emergency Response Team <br /> (CERT). <br /> Working Conditions: May be required to attend to service issues and attend meeting after <br /> normal business hours. This position requires field work and interacts with the public. <br /> Physical demands: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard <br /> office equipment, including a computer, and to attend meetings at various sites within and <br /> away from the Town, and have availability to work off-hours shifts or events as required; <br /> strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 40 pounds; mobility to lead groups in <br /> activities involving steep or rough terrain; ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather <br /> and temperature conditions; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and <br /> hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. <br /> Recreation Specialist <br /> Job Class Specifications—Adopted July 20,2017 <br /> Resolution 39-17 Page 3 <br />
