Council discussion ensued regarding the reappointment of Peter Evans to the <br /> Environmental Initiatives Committee as he has completed three full terms on the <br /> committee. <br /> MOTION MADE AND SECONDED: Mayor Waldeck moved to reappoint Peter <br /> Evans to the Environmental Initiatives Committee for a fourth, four-year term. The <br /> motion.was seconded by Councilmember Wu. <br /> Eileen Gibbons, Los Altos Hills, objected to the City Council's discussion as it <br /> more of a policy discussion and not about Mr. Evans reappointment. <br /> DIRECTION: Councilmember Corrigan requested the Committee Members <br /> Term Limit discussion to be on a placed as a future agenda item. Vice Mayor <br /> Radford requested that staff put together a list showing all committee members and <br /> their current term on the committee. If the Town follows the policy of limiting the <br /> terms to two, Council would like a list of current committee members who would <br /> be affected by this term limit, going forward. Mayor Waldeck directed this topic <br /> return in August. <br /> Pat Lang, Los Altos Hills, said the Council is really lucky to have people using <br /> their experience volunteering their time to help make decisions on what is best for <br /> the town. <br /> Allen Epstein, Los Altos Hills, said if there are no other openings, he agrees with <br /> the Council's position, but if there are many open positions on the committee it is <br /> unfair to not let someone serve who wants to serve. <br /> Kjell Karlsson, Los Altos Hills, added that on the Finance and Investment <br /> Committee there are two long-term members that are swapping chair and <br /> secretary duties. <br /> Further council discussion. <br /> The Clerk restated the motion as follows: <br /> MOTION MADE AND SECONDED: Mayor Waldeck moved to reappoint Peter <br /> Evans to the Environmental Initiatives Committee for a fourth, four-year term.
