EXHIBIT A <br /> TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br /> UTILITY ENGINEERING MANAGER <br /> JOB CLASS SPECIFICATIONS <br /> DEFINITION <br /> To perform professional and technical engineering work primarily in wastewater management <br /> and in other assigned area of responsibility including design, land development, construction, <br /> traffic, or environmental engineering. <br /> DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br /> This class is FLSA-exempt position. <br /> Positions in this class perform the more complex professional engineering work and may <br /> supervise the work of lower level professional and technical engineering staff and/or the Town's <br /> maintenance crew. Appointment to this level requires considerable knowledge and experience in <br /> wastewater engineering, management, and services. Additionally, knowledge of storm water, <br /> solid waste, utility system design, engineering design and construction, subdivision laws and, as <br /> necessary, traffic engineering or environmental engineering are required. Positions in this class <br /> must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as evidenced by the ability to competently <br /> prepare written staff reports and recommendations for more complex engineering projects and to then <br /> effectively present such information at public meetings. May exercise indirect functional and technical <br /> supervision over other professional, technical and maintenance staff. Responsible to manage <br /> Town's wastewater consultants and maintenance contractors. Receives direction from the Public <br /> Works Director/City Engineer. The Utility Engineering Manager serves as the Acting Public Works <br /> Director/City Engineer in the director's absence. <br /> EXAMPLES OF DUTIES <br /> Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: <br /> • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Town's wastewater and storm water, with primary <br /> responsibility for delivering on-time and on-budget Capital-Improvement Projects in <br /> accordance with the Town's Annual Capital Improvement Project(CIP) Budget and 5- <br /> Year CIP Program. <br /> Utility Engineering Manager <br /> Job Class Specifications—Approved November 16,2017 <br /> Resolution 67-17 Page 2 <br />
