9. Pursuant to Sections 10228 and 13307 of the California Elections Code, the City Council <br /> approves and adopts the following uniform policies and procedures concerning the General <br /> Municipal Election to be held on November 6, 2018: <br /> a) Each candidate for elective office to be voted for at an election to be held in the <br /> Town of Los Altos Hills on November 6, 2018 may prepare a candidate statement <br /> on an appropriate form provided by the City Clerk. The statement may include the <br /> name, age and occupation of the candidate and brief description of no more than <br /> 200 words of the candidate's education and qualifications expressed by the <br /> candidate himself or herself. <br /> b) The statement shall not include parry affiliation of the candidate, nor membership <br /> or activity in partisan political organizations. <br /> C) The statement shall be filed in typewritten form in the office of the City Clerk at <br /> the time the candidate's nomination papers are filed. The statement may be <br /> withdrawn,but not changed,during the period of filing nomination papers and until <br /> 5:00 p.m. on the next working day after the close of the nomination period. <br /> d) Candidates shall he exempt from charges for the cost of translations mandated by <br /> the Federal Voting Rights Act and the preparation and mailing of said Candidate's <br /> Statements. <br /> e) Candidates shall be exempt from payment of any filing fee. <br /> B Pursuant to the Federal Voting Rights Act,candidates'statements will be translated <br /> into all languages required by the County of Santa Clara, The County is required <br /> to translate candidate statements into the following languages: English, Chinese, <br /> Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. <br /> The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of <br /> Los Altos Hills at a regular meeting held on the 17th day of May, 2018 by the following vote: <br /> AYES: Radford, Spreen, Corrigan, Waldeck,Wu <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSTAIN; None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ohn Radford, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> 'Deborah C; y Clerk <br /> Resolution 38-I8 Page 3 <br />
