9. Pursuant to Sections 10228 and 13307 of the California Elections Code, the City Council approves and adopts the following uniform policies and procedures concerning the General Municipal Election to be held on November 6, 2018: a) Each candidate for elective office to be voted for at an election to be held in the Town of Los Altos Hills on November 6, 2018 may prepare a candidate statement on an appropriate form provided by the City Clerk. The statement may include the name, age and occupation of the candidate and brief description of no more than 200 words of the candidate's education and qualifications expressed by the candidate himself or herself. b) The statement shall not include parry affiliation of the candidate, nor membership or activity in partisan political organizations. C) The statement shall be filed in typewritten form in the office of the City Clerk at the time the candidate's nomination papers are filed. The statement may be withdrawn,but not changed,during the period of filing nomination papers and until 5:00 p.m. on the next working day after the close of the nomination period. d) Candidates shall he exempt from charges for the cost of translations mandated by the Federal Voting Rights Act and the preparation and mailing of said Candidate's Statements. e) Candidates shall be exempt from payment of any filing fee. B Pursuant to the Federal Voting Rights Act,candidates'statements will be translated into all languages required by the County of Santa Clara, The County is required to translate candidate statements into the following languages: English, Chinese, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese.
