ORDINANCE 583 . <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS FURTHER AMENDING <br />THE LOS ALTOS HILLS MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTION 2-4.04, <br />CONCERNING BIDDING PROCEDURES <br />1. NOW THEREFORE, The City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does ordain as <br />follows: <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT OF CODE <br />Section 2-4.04 entitled "Bidding Procedures" of Chapter 4 (Purchasing System) of Title 2 <br />(Administration) is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />2-4.04 Bidding procedures. <br />All purchases of goods and public projects, the cost of which is one hundred twenty-five <br />thousand dollars ($125,000.00) or more, shall be based upon specifications theretofore approved <br />by the City Council and submitted for formal bidding. The notice inviting bids to purchase shall <br />be advertised upon authority of the City Council, and such advertisement shall be published one <br />time in a newspaper of general circulation published nearest to the City, and in addition, invitations <br />to bid may be mailed to prospective vendors at the discretion of the City Manager. The bids <br />submitted shall be received by the City Clerk, to be opened by the City Manager at the time <br />designated. The following exceptions. shall apply: <br />(a) Informal Bid Procedures for Purchase of Goods. For the purchase of goods above <br />twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000), the City Manager shall solicit at least three (3) competitive <br />bids and shall be awarded on the basis of the bid most advantageous to the Town. <br />(b) Informal Bid Procedures for Purchase of Public Projects. <br />(1) Informal Bid Procedures. Public projects, as defined by the Act and in accordance <br />with the limits listed in. Section 22032 et seq., of the Public Contracts Code. <br />(2) Contractors List. A list of contractors shall be developed and maintained- in <br />accordance with the provisions of Section 22034 of the Public Contracts Code and criteria <br />promulgated from time to time. by the California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting <br />Commission. <br />(3) Notice Inviting Informal Bids. Where a public project is to be performed which is <br />subject to the provisions of this section, a notice inviting - informal bids shall be mailed to all <br />contractors for the category of work to be bid, as shown on the contractor list, and to all <br />construction trade journals as specified by the California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting <br />Commission in accordance with Section 22036 of the Public Contracts Code.
