Environmental Initiatives Committee
Regular Meeting Minutes
DATE: Thursday, April 9, 2015
TIME: 7:00 PM
LOCATION: Parks & Recreation Building,
26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hill

1. Roll Call. The meeting was called to order at 7 P.M.
In attendance: April Anair, Peter Evans (vice chair), Raj Reddy, Serena Giori (chair);
Rich Larsen John Harpootlian (council liaisons); Samuel Broydo (member of the
public).

2. Approval of Minutes of the April 12, 2015 regular meeting. Motion to approve by
Raj Reddy seconded by Peter Evans passed unanimously.

3. CCA. Identify LAH objectives and review CCA options currently available.
Peter Evans reviewed the current CCA initiative by Sunnyvale/MountainView - also
being evaluated by Los Altos - and a second initiative by San Mateo County. In order
to evaluate the feasibility of participating in either initiative, LAH must request from
PG&E the release of customer data, properly scrubbed of identifying information, to
the requesting party responsible for the initial study. Motion by Raj Reddy seconded
by April Anair to advise the TC to request the release passed unanimously. Next step
is receiving the results of the analysis and setting a date for a meeting with
consultants and the TC to discuss the initial study.

4. Review GreenPoint for remodels and Fast Track implementations.
The discussion focused on the need to include water conservation guidelines because
of the recently announced actions by Governor Brown to increase water conservation
due to persisting drought. More details will become available before the next EIC
meeting.

5. Public Comments.
Mr. Samuel Broydo commented that we should not impose specific measures to save
water, as long as the property owner achieves the required water savings. Price is the
ultimate means to enforce water savings. He also commented on the need for better
management and care of trees along our roads since they are an integral part of the
solution to current environmental challenges. The EIC will address this issue in the
near future.

6. Adjournment at 9:00 P.M.

NOTICE TO PUBLIC
Any writings or documents provided to a majority of the Environmental Initiatives Committee regarding
any item on this agenda will be made available for public inspection in the City Clerk’s office located at
Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, California during normal business hours.
