The Los Altos Hills Public Art Committee <br />Meeting Minutes of January 11, 2016 <br />Present: R. Brunell, Gail Solomon, Karen Druker, Lakshmi Ramgopal, Farah Tabatabi, Julie <br />Arnheim <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:33 PM <br />The Committee established a 3rd list of sites. <br />The harvesting of art consists of: <br />Finding good art <br />Modifying the art <br />Commissioning your own art <br />Donating a piece of art <br />Committee should clarify, with Council, if there is a policy to change the condition of the piece <br />of art, or the placement of the art. <br />The Parks and Recreation Committee made a presentation of the art and where it should be <br />placed. <br />The art work would need to be approved by the Council, the Engineer, and the art consultant, <br />Carol Debb. With regards to the art consultant, Roger has checked with her, and she will be <br />available for 2 years, and she will be the Interim Art consultant, contingent to an interview with <br />her. <br />There was a discussion on the insurance for general liability for the art works. <br />More information is needed on the biographical and cultural backgrounds of Jean Maccanees and <br />Sandra Simmons. <br />There was a discussion on the plaque for “The Blue.” The font is stenciled and printed, the <br />dedication stone goes on the left, and the plaque material is brass. <br />Discussion about the bench to be donated by Roger Burnell followed. It is designed by BMW <br />Designer. A second bench is foreseen to be contributed by Sandra and Greg. <br />The sculpture should be up by January 18, 20116.
