RESOLUTION 46-22 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS <br />ALTOS HILLS APPROPRIATING $45,000 FROM THE UNRESERVED <br />GENERAL FUND FOR A SUPPLEMENTAL DEPUTY OF THE <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICE TO WORK DURING PEAKS HOURS OF THE DAY <br />FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 2021-22 FISCAL YEAR <br />WHEREAS, on July 1, 2014 the Town of Los Altos Hills entered into an agreement with the <br />Santa Clara County Office of the Sheriff for law enforcement services; and <br />WHEREAS, recently in the past two months the Town of Los Altos Hills has experienced an <br />uptick in residential burglaries as compared to last year. In January and February of 2022, there <br />have been a total of 11 incidents reported, more than past years for the same time frame; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of Los Altos Hills wishes to further assist the Office of the Sheriff <br />in protecting residents by authorizing additional funds for supplemental law enforcement resources <br />through the remaining months of the current fiscal year; and <br />WHEREAS, instead of funding an additional dedicated full-time Deputy, a better option would <br />be to provide funding for supplemental overtime hours, specifically five days a week from 5pm to <br />midnight (7 hours a day). <br />NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills hereby appropriates <br />$45,000 from the unreserved general fund for a supplemental Deputy of the Sheriff's Office during <br />peak hours of the day for the remainder of the 2021-22 fiscal year. <br />The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of <br />Los Altos Hills at a regular meeting held on 21" of April 2022 by the following vote: <br />AYES: Tyson, Swan, Mok, Schmidt, Tankha <br />NOES: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ATTEST: <br />0&?OPOL-,-2L Deborah <br />By: <br />George Tyson, May <br />Resolution 46-22 <br />Page 1 <br />
