1. That the foregoing recitals are true and correct and are hereby adopted. 2. That pursuant to the requirements of the Elections Code of the State of California relating to General Law Cities, there is called and ordered to be held in the Town of Los Altos Hills, California on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, a General Municipal Election for the purpose of electing two (2) Members of the City Council, each for a full term of four (4) years. Pursuant to Sections 10400, 10402, and 10403 of the California Elections Code, it is in the best interest of the public to consolidate the Los Altos Hills General Municipal Election with the Statewide General Election to be held on November 8, 2022. The consolidated election will be held and conducted in accordance with the provisions of law regulating the statewide election. NOW THEREFORE, IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED: 1. That pursuant to the requirements of Section 10403 of the Elections Code, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara ("Board of Supervisors") is hereby requested to consent and agree to the consolidation with the Town of Los Altos Hills of a General Municipal Election with the Statewide Election on November 8, 2022, for two (2) Los Altos Hills City Council seats for a full term of four (4) years, and to take any and all steps necessary for the holding of the consolidated election. 2. That the Board of Supervisors is requested to make available the services of the Registrar of Voters of the County of Santa Clara ("Registrar of Voters") for the purpose of providing the usual services necessary in conducting said election, including, but not limited to, the provision of election supplies, voter pamphlets, ballots, notices, printed materials and all supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct the election. 3. That the Registrar of Voters is authorized to specify the location for the tally of ballots, canvass the results of the two City Council seats and certify the results to the City Clerk of the Town of Los Altos Hills. The election shall be held in all respects as if there were only one (1) election, and only one (1) form of ballot shall be used. 4. That the City Cleric shall file a certified copy of this Resolution with both the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors and the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters. 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions. 6. That the Town of Los Altos Hills recognizes that costs will be incurred by the County by reason of this consolidation and agrees to reimburse the County for such costs, and that the City Manager is authorized and directed to compensate Santa Clara County for the cost of conducting the General Municipal Election for the Town.
