1. That the foregoing recitals are true and correct and are hereby adopted. <br />2. That pursuant to the requirements of the Elections Code of the State of California relating <br />to General Law Cities, there is called and ordered to be held in the Town of Los Altos Hills, <br />California on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, a General Municipal Election for the purpose <br />of electing two (2) Members of the City Council, each for a full term of four (4) years. <br />Pursuant to Sections 10400, 10402, and 10403 of the California Elections Code, it is in the <br />best interest of the public to consolidate the Los Altos Hills General Municipal Election <br />with the Statewide General Election to be held on November 8, 2022. The consolidated <br />election will be held and conducted in accordance with the provisions of law regulating the <br />statewide election. <br />NOW THEREFORE, IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED: <br />1. That pursuant to the requirements of Section 10403 of the Elections Code, the Board of <br />Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara ("Board of Supervisors") is hereby requested to <br />consent and agree to the consolidation with the Town of Los Altos Hills of a General <br />Municipal Election with the Statewide Election on November 8, 2022, for two (2) Los <br />Altos Hills City Council seats for a full term of four (4) years, and to take any and all <br />steps necessary for the holding of the consolidated election. <br />2. That the Board of Supervisors is requested to make available the services of the Registrar <br />of Voters of the County of Santa Clara ("Registrar of Voters") for the purpose of providing <br />the usual services necessary in conducting said election, including, but not limited to, the <br />provision of election supplies, voter pamphlets, ballots, notices, printed materials and all <br />supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to properly and <br />lawfully conduct the election. <br />3. That the Registrar of Voters is authorized to specify the location for the tally of ballots, <br />canvass the results of the two City Council seats and certify the results to the City Clerk of <br />the Town of Los Altos Hills. The election shall be held in all respects as if there were only <br />one (1) election, and only one (1) form of ballot shall be used. <br />4. That the City Cleric shall file a certified copy of this Resolution with both the Santa Clara <br />County Board of Supervisors and the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters. <br />5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution and enter it <br />into the book of original resolutions. <br />6. That the Town of Los Altos Hills recognizes that costs will be incurred by the County by <br />reason of this consolidation and agrees to reimburse the County for such costs, and that the <br />City Manager is authorized and directed to compensate Santa Clara County for the cost of <br />conducting the General Municipal Election for the Town. <br />Resolution 49-22 Page 2 <br />
