RESOLUTION 102-22 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS APPROVING A POLICY AND PROCEDURE FOR <br />CEREMONIAL AND COMMEMORATIVE FLAG DISPLAYS ON DISPLAY FLAG <br />POLES <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Los Altos Hills does not currently have a policy for the display of all <br />ceremonial and commemorative flags on Town -owned flagpoles ("Display Flag Poles"); and <br />WHEREAS, City Council of the Town desires to display ceremonial and commemorative flags on <br />Display Flag Poles as an expression of the City Council's official sentiments; and <br />WHEREAS, the Town's Display Flag Poles are not intended to serve as forums for free speech or <br />expression by the public, and are intended only to display ceremonial and commemorative flags that <br />express the official sentiment of the City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, to ensure the proper administration and display of flags on Display Flag Poles and to <br />establish that the Town does not intend to open a public forum on the Display Flag Poles, the City <br />Council wishes to approve Display Flag Poles Policy and Procedures, establishing the City Council's <br />role in requesting and approving which commemorative and ceremonial flags will be flown on Display <br />Flag Poles as an expression of the Town's official sentiment. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills, does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />1. The above recitals are true and correct and hereby incorporated into this Resolution. <br />2. The Display Flag Poles Policy and Procedures, included as Attachment 1, is hereby approved. <br />3. The City Manager is authorized to execute the approved Display Flag Poles Policy and <br />Procedures, and to take any other related action reasonably necessary to carry out the intent of <br />this Resolution. <br />4.
