RESOLUTION 20-23 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ONE-YEAR REVIEW OF THE AUTOMATIC <br />LICENSE PLATE READER PILOT PROGRAM AND RECEIVING COUNCIL <br />DIRECTION ON CONTINUED USE OF THE SYSTEM IN TOWN <br />WHEREAS, on April 15, 2021, the Los Altos Hills City Council approved of a plan to install 40 <br />ALPR cameras at fixed locations throughout Town for the purposes of deterring crime and helping <br />to create a safer environment for all those who live, work, or visit the Town. The system was <br />initially approved under a 60 -day no -cost pilot program; and <br />WHEREAS, On March 17, 2022 the City Council approved of the continued use of the cameras <br />in Town passed the 60 -day pilot period; however, the Council extended to the pilot period to 2023 <br />so that a full year's worth of data could be analyzed; and <br />WHEREAS, After reviewing a year's worth of data from the system, Town staff and the County <br />Sheriffs Office agree that the Cameras are a benefit to the Town and that the cameras should <br />remain in place. <br />NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills hereby receives the one- <br />year review of the Automatic License Plate Reader Pilot Program and provides staff direction on <br />the continued use of the system in Town. <br />The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of <br />Los Altos Hills at a regular meeting held on 16th of February 2023 by the following vote: <br />AYES: Swan, Mok, Schmidt, Tankha, Tyson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />AT ST. <br />eborah L.
