RESOLUTION 29-23 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE FIRST <br />AMENDMENT TO THE MUNICIPAL RESOURCE GROUP, LLC (MRG) <br />AGREEMENT TO EXPAND THE SCOPE OF SERVICES AND INCREASE THE NOT <br />TO EXCEED AMOUNT TO $90,000 FOR PUBLIC SAFETY CONSULTING SERVICES <br />AND APPROPRIATING $65,000 FROM THE UNDERSERVED GENERAL FUND FOR <br />FY 2022-23 <br />WHEREAS, the Town and Contractor previously entered into an agreement to explore options <br />the Town can take in response to an increase in residential burglaries dated February 23, 2023; and <br />WHEREAS, the initial agreement had a not to exceed limit of Twenty -Five Thousand dollars and <br />no cents ($25,000.00) and consisted of the following work: information gathering, option <br />development/refinement with key stakeholders, and the preparation of a report; and <br />WHEREAS, the Town is now interested in expanding on the services from the contractor to <br />include four focus areas: hiring private security patrol for the Town, maximizing the value and <br />effectiveness of the ALPR system, ongoing community education and outreach, and assessment <br />of law enforcement services; and <br />WHEREAS, to account for the increase in scope, the not to exceed limit of the agreement shall <br />be increased to ninety thousand dollars and no cents ($90,000.00); and <br />WHEREAS, $65,000 shall be appropriated from the unreserved general fund to FY2022-23 to <br />cover the expense. <br />NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills hereby authorizes the City <br />Manager to execute the First Amendment to the MRG Agreement increasing the not exceed <br />amount to $90,000 for public safety consultant services and appropriating $65,000 from the <br />unreserved general fund for FY 2022-23. <br />The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of <br />Los Altos Hills at a regular meeting held on 16th of March 2023 by the following vote: <br />AYES: Swan, Mok, Schmidt, Tankha, Tyson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />By: <br />Linda G.
