RESOLUTION 91-23 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT OF <br />THE 2023 SANITARY SEWER REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, on August 17, 2023, the City Council approved the Plans and specifications for the <br />2023 Sanitary Sewer Repair and Replacement Project and authorized staff to advertise the <br />project for formal bid; and <br />WHEREAS, Notice to Bidders were advertised for the project on September 5, 2023, and three <br />bids were received and opened on September 28, 2023; and <br />WHEREAS, the Utility Engineering Manager of the Town of Los Altos Hills did, in open session, <br />duly examine and consider all bids submitted to it for the construction of the 2023 Sanitary Sewer <br />Repair and Replacement Project; and <br />WHEREAS, staff recommends that the construction agreement for said project be awarded to the <br />lowest responsible bidder, Smelly Mel's Plumbing, Inc., in the amount of $520,630; and <br />WHEREAS, staff recommends that funds of $80,000 be made available for construction <br />contingency. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills <br />that: <br />1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to award a construction agreement to Smelly <br />Mel's Plumbing, Inc., the lowest responsible and responsive bidder not to exceed <br />$520,630. <br />2. The Public Works Director is hereby authorized to approve potential contract change <br />orders not to exceed $80,000. <br />The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of <br />Los Altos Hills at a regular meeting held on the 19th day of October 2023 by the following vote: <br />AYES: Swan, Molc, Schmidt, Tanlcha, Tyson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />By: <br />Linda G.
