Town Goals <br /> • Environmental Leadership and Outstanding Recreational Facilities <br /> 21A. Consideration of Westwind Barn Breakroom Renovation(Staff: R. Chiu). <br /> Mayor Kerr introduced the item to Council. He noted that the kitchen area at the Barn <br /> had been removed during the seismic retrofit/safety project. The project was within the <br /> budget recently approved by Council. The proposal before Council would restore the <br /> kitchen/breakroom and was the last functional item to complete the interior renovation of <br /> the facility. The contractor had worked closely with staff to develop a prudent budget. <br /> Councilmember Warshawsky questioned if donations had been considered as a means to <br /> support the project. Mayor Kerr offered that there would be many opportunities going <br /> forward for citizens to contribute to the beautification of the Barn but the project before <br /> Council was time sensitive and it would be cost effective to have the current contractor <br /> complete the functional component of the renovation. <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Larsen concurred that the project would complete the renovation. <br /> However, going forward,he would like to see improvements driven by contributions. <br /> Councilmember Summit questioned if "naming" opportunities might be a method for <br /> instigating donations for furnishing the room. <br /> • <br /> 11 Approved City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> July 15,2010 <br />
