CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL, AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> Councilmember Kerr called the Special Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:02 p.m. in the <br /> Council Chambers at Town Hall. <br /> Present: Councilmembers Kerr, O'Malley and Warshawsky, Planning <br /> Commissioner Kerns and Cottrell, Committee Members Downey, <br /> Mordo, Oldberg, Radford and Whaley <br /> Absent: None <br /> Staff: City Manager Maureen Cassingham, and City Clerk Karen Jost <br /> Press: None <br /> • 2. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES January 14, 2003 <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by O'Malley, seconded by Downey and <br /> passed unanimously to approve the Minutes of the January 14, 2003 City Council Special <br /> Meeting with the following correction: Item 2.4, page 3 should read, "reduce the footprint to less <br /> than 7100 square feet, reduce the height, use less expensive materials, the savings would not <br /> have been substantial." <br /> 3. NEW BUSINESS <br /> 3.1 Introduction of Architects, Project Discussion and Tour of Facility <br /> Councilmember Kerr introduced the four architects who have been asked to participate in the <br /> style development phase of the new Town Hall. <br /> • Barry Nathan, Rural design, registered Architect since the 1970's and <br /> presently associated with a firm in Palo Alto. His work has encompassed <br /> a wide range of'designs for residential and assembly buildings. Mr. <br /> Nathan was responsible for the illustrations of a proposed new Town <br /> Hall with a rural design element that were distributed by a LAH citizens <br /> group. Nathan added that he is looking forward to having an opportunity <br /> to develop a more interesting design. <br /> 1 <br /> Special City Council Meeting Minutes <br /> February 4;2003 <br />
