CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL,AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> Mayor Cheng called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 6:00 p.m. in the <br /> Council Chambers at Town Hall. <br /> Present: Mayor Emily Cheng, Mayor Pro Tem Mike O'Malley, Councilmember <br /> Bob Fenwick, Councilmember Breene Kerr and Councilmember Dean <br /> Warshawsky <br /> Absent: None <br /> Staff. City Manager Maureen Cassingham, City Attorney Steve Mattas,Assistant <br /> Attorney Alix Rosenthal, Planning Director Carl Cahill, Associate Planner <br /> Debbie Pedro, City Engineer/Director of Public Works Mintze Cheng, <br /> Administrative Services Director Sarah Joiner and City Clerk Karen Jost <br /> Press: Kaye Ross, San Jose Mercury News and Tim Seyfert, Los Altos Town <br /> • Crier <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by O'Malley, seconded by <br /> Warshawsky and passed unanimously to limit the length of time for public comments to <br /> three minutes. <br /> 2. APPOINTMENTS AND PRESENTATIONS <br /> Mayor Cheng explained that this would be City Engineer/Director of Public Works <br /> Mintze Cheng's final City Council meeting. She thanked her for her three years of <br /> outstanding service. The Council concurred and wished Cheng well in her new <br /> endeavors. <br /> 3. PLANNING COMMISSION REPORT <br /> Carl Cahill reported that the Planning Commission had met on November 13, 2003. <br /> Their actions included: the approval of a landscape screening plan and rededication of a <br /> storm drain easement, Lands of Teng; the approval of a variance request to legalize a pool <br /> and hardscape improvements to encroach into setback lines, Lands of Lo; and the <br /> Commissioners reviewed a proposed fence ordinance and directed staff to revise the <br /> ordinance to include more pictures and diagrams similar to the Woodside fence <br /> ordinance. <br /> 1 City Council Meeting Minutes <br /> November 20,2003 <br />
