MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by O'Malley, seconded by Cheng and <br /> passed unanimously by all members present to adopt Resolution #87-02 approving and <br /> authorizing execution of an agreement between the Town of Los Altos Hills and HDR <br /> Engineering, Inc. <br /> 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> 5.1 Update on Mayor's Goals <br /> (1) Break ground for the new Town Hall,partially funded by donations <br /> The second agreement with the architect was on the agenda for discussion later in this <br /> meeting. <br /> (2) Undergrounding of utility wires in Los Altos Hills <br /> The decision was made at the 8/1/02 meeting not to put this on the November ballot. <br /> O'Malley commented on the recent Woodside fire which involved downed trees on power <br /> lines. He believed the undergrounding issue was an important one and definitely a safety <br /> issue. Even though it did not work out this year to put this matter on the ballot, he wanted <br /> to see the Council continue this goal with a high priority. <br /> (3) Complete the update process for an accurate 2002 master pathway map <br /> A continued Study Session on the master pathway map was scheduled for later in this <br /> meeting. <br /> (4) Consider the possibility of adopting a view ordinance for the Town <br /> Staff will be reviewing this issue and reporting back to Council in the next few months. <br /> 5.2 Approval of second agreement with Goldman Architects—Reso # <br /> John Goldman, responding to Council inquiries, stated that he did not foresee any <br /> additional services being added to this contract. He also commented that the number of <br /> site visits really depended on the contractor. They had included a performance bond <br /> which was quite expensive but protected all involved. He referred to Section 3.4.13 of <br /> the contract and noted that his contract included anything that was fixed such as built-in <br /> structures, etc. Anything not fixed would result in extra services. Mr. Goldman also <br /> commented on the drawings and noted that no one would make a bid on the project unless <br /> they understood the drawings. <br /> John Goldman stated that the $646,096 figure for his services included all costs from the <br /> beginning of this project.
