I • <br /> RESOLUTION 21-13 <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br /> ESTABLISHING A PREFERENTIAL PARKING AREA <br /> (Tepa Way) <br /> WHEREAS, the residents of at least fifty-one percent of the developed frontage on Tepa <br /> Way, Los Altos Hills submitted a petition to the Town requesting the establishment of parking <br /> controls to address the extensive utilization of Tepa Way for ancillary parking by hikers of the Mid <br /> Peninsula Open Space District trails; and <br /> WHEREAS, such regular use of Tepa Way for ancillary parking by nonresidents prevents <br /> the residents of Tepa Way from being able to park vehicles on their street during certain periods of <br /> the day and also creates safety issues due to littering and loitering by hikers; and <br /> WHEREAS, on February 19, 2004 the City Council adopted an ordinance ("Preferential <br /> Parking Ordinance") which authorizes the Council to establish preferential parking areas by <br /> resolution and the Council has determined that a preferential parking area is appropriate for Tepa <br /> Way; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does RESOLVE as <br /> follows: <br /> Section 1. The City Council hereby establishes a preferential parking area for <br /> Tepa Way, Los Altos Hills between the hours of 7 am— 5:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday and <br /> Legal Holidays as specified in the Town of Los Altos Hills Municipal Code (Chapter 6, <br /> Sec.5-6.02). <br /> Section 2. The City Council hereby directs the City Engineer to cause <br /> appropriate signage to be erected on Tepa Way as required by the Los Altos Hills Municipal <br /> Code. <br /> Section 3. Pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 22507(a), enforcement <br /> of the terms of this resolution shall not take effect until such signage is in place. <br /> The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of Los <br /> Altos Hills at a regular meeting held on the 18th day of April, 2013 by the following vote: <br /> AYES: Waldeck, Corrigan, Harpootlian, Radford, Larsen <br /> NOES: None • <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> Resolution 21-13 Page 1 <br />
