• • <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 22-04 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS BILLS <br /> APPROVING A RECORDS RETENTION SCHEDULE <br /> WHEREAS, the purpose of a records retention schedule is to ensure that a <br /> responsible program of records management is practiced and documented from creation <br /> to disposition in accordance with the law and in the best interest of the Town and the <br /> citizens of Los Altos Hills; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Records Retention Schedule attached hereto as Exhibit"A" and <br /> entitled "Local Government Records Retention Guidelines" is based upon statewide <br /> guidelines developed by the City Clerks Association of California and maintained by the <br /> Secretary of State; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State of California <br /> provides the guidelines for destroying records that have served their purpose and are no <br /> longer required and adoption of this Resolution establishes a records retention schedule <br /> and authorizes the periodic destruction of certain records. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the Town of Los <br /> Altos Hills does hereby approve the Records Retention Schedule hereto attached as <br /> Exhibit "A" and directs the City Clerk to continue to review annually state and federal <br /> regulations and update the Records Retention Schedule as necessary. <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED this h today of M l , 2004 <br /> By: / ., <br /> <br /> May. <br /> ATTEST: <br /> -- <br /> c % _ <br /> ccreso04 <br />
