• • <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 25-03 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br /> SUPPORTING PUBLIC EDUCATION IN LOS ALTOS HILLS <br /> AND THE BULLIS CHARTER SCHOOL <br /> WHEREAS, public education is a vital element of any town; and <br /> WHEREAS,the closing of Bullis-Purissima Elementary School in June 2003 will <br /> leave Los Altos Hills without a single public school when the Town once had four public <br /> schools; and <br /> WHEREAS, Los Altos Hills will soon be the only town on the Peninsula without <br /> a single public school; <br /> WHEREAS, the development of a charter elementary school open to all in Los <br /> Altos Hills is in the best interest of our Town and our residents, children, parents and <br /> homeowners; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the City Council of the Town <br /> of Los Altos Hills acknowledges that the Town's General Plan identifies public education <br /> as the designated land use of the Bullis-Purissima Elementary site; <br /> AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the City Council of the Town of <br /> Los Altos Hills supports the plan for developing a public elementary school in Los Altos <br /> Hills as allowed under the State Education Code; <br /> AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the City Council of the Town of <br /> Los Altos Hills specifically supports the efforts of the Bullis Charter School to keep <br /> public education in Los Altos Hills and recommends to the 7-11 Site Advisory <br /> Committee to the Los Altos School District that it give top priority for use of Bullis- <br /> Purissima Elementary School site and facilities on Fremont Road to the Bullis Charter <br /> School. <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of April, 2003. <br /> By <br /> Mayor <br /> W erk <br />
