• <br /> Town of Los Altos Hills <br /> Classification and Compensation Plan <br /> 3.9 Employee Assistance Program <br /> 3.9.1 General Description <br /> The Employee Assistance Program is a confidential referral service for'help in <br /> dealing with many kinds of personal problems that an employee may have. This <br /> program is an effective manner to deal with employee issues that, while affecting <br /> employee performance, are beyond the scope of management's control. The <br /> services provided include counseling, crisis intervention, training and <br /> consultation. <br /> 3.9.2 Eligibility <br /> Regular, full time employees and part time employees who regularly work twenty <br /> (20) hours per week or more are eligible for this benefit. Part time employees <br /> who work less than twenty (20) hours per week and temporary and retired <br /> employees are not eligible for this benefit. <br /> 3.9.3 Benefit <br /> The Town provides an Employee Assistance Program through Magellan <br /> Behavioral Health, Inc (Magellan). The program offers assessment, counseling, <br /> 24-hour crisis intervention, child/elder care services, legal and financial resources, <br /> management consultation, supervisor training and employee workshops. <br /> 3.9.4 Method of Administration <br /> The cost of the Employee Assistance Plan is paid by the Town. Employees may <br /> confidentially use the services of Magellan without prior approval of a Town <br /> supervisor or City Manager. <br /> 3.10 Uniforms and Safety Gear <br /> Town employees who work in the field may be provided uniforms and safety gear <br /> necessary to protect the employee's well being and establish a consistent Town image. <br /> The City Manager shall determine which employee classifications are eligible for this <br /> benefit and what type of uniform or safety gear is appropriate. <br /> The Town's annual budget includes a line item for this benefit and purchases must be <br /> authorized by the employee's department head, under the general guidance of the City <br /> ' Manager.
