1 <br />16 <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />TOWN OF LOS AUTOS HILLS <br />MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING <br />April 4, 1959 <br />The Special Meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order <br />Saturday, April 4m, 1959 at 8:45 A. M. at the Town Hall, 26379 West <br />Fremont Avenue, Los Altos Hills by Chairman Proctor Mellquist. <br />ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Ccmmissioners Kendall, Spain, Williams, Tantau <br />Chairman Mellquist <br />ABSENT: Commissioners Case, Dawson, Hayes <br />PUBLIC HEARING: Zoning Ordinance (#44). <br />Following comments relative to the purpose of the Ordinance, by Chair- <br />man Mellquist, the following action was taken. <br />ACTION: <br />That reading of the Ordinance be waived. <br />MOTION: Spain; SECOND: Williams; VOTE: Passed unanimously. <br />Questions and comments were invited from the Floor. <br />Mr. Richard Alves, representing the Pacific Gas & Electric Co. com- <br />mented on Section VII, 7:'}0, and stated that he had submitted a draft <br />of proposed wording to be considered. He further commented that in <br />Section II, 2:10 (%) 'Structures', utility poles are not excluded, and <br />that this would imply that building permits will be required. He fur- <br />ther stated that the requirement for Use Permit in Section VII, 7.-10 <br />would hamper them in the procurement of rights of way. <br />Mr. Jim Gard, representing Pacific Telephone Co., commented that he <br />had also submitted a draft of proposed wording for Section VII, 7:70. <br />His comments relative to requirement for Permits concurred with Mr. <br />Alves. <br />The Chairman read the drafts from the Pacific Gas & Electric Co. and <br />the Telephone Company, and stated that the draft submitted by Mr. Gard <br />was more concise and implied the same meaning intended by Mr. Alves. <br />Mr. Alves stated that he would withdraw his draft. <br />Mayor Fowls asked Mr. Alves to submit a letter, stating his views, re- <br />lative to wording for Section VII, 7:70, to be submitted along with <br />the proposed Ordinance to the Council. <br />Commissioner Spain volunteered to study the two drafts submitted, and <br />submit an amended wording. <br />Relative to provisions of Section VIII, 8:10 and 8:20, the Chairman <br />stated any deviation could be handled by variance. <br />Chairman Mellquist asked for further comments or questions. There were <br />none. He stated that the Planning Commission will act on the proposed <br />
