6M <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br />MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING <br />May 21, 1959 <br />The Special Meeting of the Planning Commission of the Town of Los <br />Altos Hills was called to order by Vice -Chairman Richard 9. Dawson <br />Thursday, May 21, 1959 at 8:04 P. M. at the Town Hall, 26379 'lest <br />Fremont Avenue, Los Altos Hills. <br />ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Commissioners Hibner, Kendall, Spain, 'Jilliams, <br />Vice -Chairman Dawson <br />ABSENT: Commissioners Case, Hayes, Tantau, Chairman <br />Mellquist <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />1. CityClerrkk - Letter, dated May 20, 1959, was relative to require- <br />ments of the Planning Commission prior to the City Council's a" <br />doption of the proposed Zoning Ordinance. <br />ACTION: <br />That the City Attorney be directed <br />Planning Commission a Resolution, <br />that the proposed Zoning Ordinance <br />MOTION: Spain; S?COND: Williams: <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />1. General Plan - Second Public Hearing. <br />to draft and present to the <br />recommending to the Council <br />be adopted as presented. <br />Voice Vote: Passed <br />unanimously <br />Letter, dated May 182, 1959 from Nestor Barrett Planning Consul- <br />tant, was read which suggested that the Council ia Public Hearing <br />be postponed. It also stated recommendations for preparation of <br />the General Plan. <br />The following persons were present and commented on the prelimin- <br />ary General Plan: Mr. Gardner Bullis, Mrs. Gardner Bullis, Mrs. <br />Irma Goldsmith, Mr. R. DeCristoforo, T°r. Frank Costello, Jr., and <br />Mrs. Walter A. Benson, who read a number of comments sent in by <br />members of the Los .altos Hills Association. <br />In the discussion of land use, relative to the percentage of land <br />being used for schools and shurches,.it was mentioned that a num- <br />ber of non-residential uses were not considered in the Plan. They <br />were: Congregation Beth ^.m (9+ acres), Mt. Helena (approximately <br />46 acres), and a site recently purchased by Catholic Church (approx. <br />imately 18 acres). A correction in the acreage of the Poor Clares <br />Convent was noted. Approximate acreage is 22 acres. <br />Following the discussion school sites, churches, paths, proposed <br />traffic circulation plan, and the freeway, the following action <br />was taken: <br />ACTION: <br />That the Public Hearing be closed. <br />MOTION: Spain; SECOND: NFilliams; VOICE VOTE: Passed <br />unanimously <br />
