r - VARIANCE AND PERMIT COFVISSION Town of Los Altos Hills 26379 Fremont Road Minutes of a Regular Meeting April 10, 1974 cc: Reel 24, Side 1, Tr. 1: 000-132 ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioners Carico, Young Absent: Commissioner Magruder Staff: Planning Consultant Tom Vlasic, Deputy City Clerk Norma Hislop City Manager Bruce Lawson APPROVAL OF MINUTES: March 27, 1974: Planning Consultant Tom Vlasic noted that the action taken by the Commission on the LANDS OF JAGER request for building site approval was incorrect. The Commission had moved that the request would be referred to the Health Department for study and comment in order to get more information, and not for further percolation tests, as stated. The Commission agreed that this had been the decision. MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Commissioner Young moved, seconded by Commissioner Carico and unanimously carried that the Minutes of March 27, 1974, be approved as corrected. REQUESTS FOR VARIANCE: 1. Thomas Keller - File $Var. 7003-74, John Riley, Engineer Planning Consultant Tom Vlasic said that Mr. Keller was requesting a variance for a swimming pool within the setback lines. Reasons given were that if the setback requirements were strictly adhered to, the result would be a less attractive site development, excessive shading of pool by trees on property. He also stated that the subject lot was undersized and created prior to the Town's incorporation. In a memo to the Commission dated April 4, 1974, Staff recommended the granting of this variance under the conditions recommended therein, specifically: 1. Additional landscaping shall be introduced alonq the northeastern property line to provide visual buffering between the pool area and the Joakimides residence. Landscaping plans shall be submitted with the building permit application satisfactory to the City Manager, and plants shall be installed and maintained.
