VARIANCE AND PERMIT COMMISSION <br />14/`1 Town of Los Altos Hills <br />26379 Fremont Road <br />Los Altos Hills, California <br />MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING <br />Wednesday, April 11, 1979 <br />Side 1, Tr. 2, 336 to 578 <br />The meetino of the Variance and Permit Commission was called to order by <br />Acting Chairman Michael Kuranoff at 7:17 p.m. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Present: Commissioners Rydell, Dochnahl and Kuranoff <br />Absent: None <br />Also Present: City Enaineer/Planner John Carlson, Secretary Ethel Hopkins <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br />MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: On the motion of Commissioner Dochnahl seconded by <br />Commissioner Kuranoff, the Minutes of March 28 were approved as submitted. <br />AYES: Commissioners Kuranoff and Dochnahl <br />%, NOES: None <br />ABSTAIN: Commissioner Rydell <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />1. LANDS OF JAISWAL, File #VAR. 7057-79, 13571 Hill Way, Request for Recommendation <br />of Approval of Request for Variance in Setback to Construct a Garage (Continued <br />to April 25) <br />2. LANDS OF OLIVER, File #VAR. 7047-77, 25466 Adobe Lane, Oakley & Associates, <br />Enaineers, Request for Recommendation of Approval for Variance for Tennis Court <br />Mr. Carlson discussed with Commissioners pertinent information on the above request <br />as detailed in his staff report of April 11. Commissioners questioned on how much <br />of the lot area was covered by impervious surfaces, and thereafter the hearing was <br />opened to the public discussion. <br />Dick Oliver, 25466 Adobe Lane, Applicant, discussed whether the old private easement <br />s ou d be included in calcu atina the aross area of his lot, the use of this old <br />easement over the years he has lived on the property, the cost of having the easement <br />abandoned, the fact that neighbors support his request for a variance to build a <br />tennis court, called attention to his adjacent neighbor's letter supporting his <br />request for a variance, his desire to correct a long-standing drainage problem in <br />the area if the variance for the tennis court were granted, noted that all his <br />neighbors supported his request and that many of them had similar problems on their <br />lots, and finally, noted that he had adequately addressed the six conditions for the <br />%W granting of the variance. He requested that the Commission recommend approval of his <br />variance. <br />
