The items to be included are: Rosters, Town Handbook, Welcome letter from
%, Chamber of Commerce, Letter from the Safety Committee, Voter registration cards
and Information on the libraries. It was decided that this Welcome Packet would be
available at Town Hall to be picked up unless a request was made for it to be mailed.
The materials available at the Chamber of Commerce would be picked up at their
office. The welcome letter from the Chamber would include directions to their
office. On the subject of the newsletter, Council commended the committee for
doing an excellent job of producing the newsletter. Dauber specifically mentioned
how reliable the newsletter was and she believed this was the top priority of a Town
Newsletter. Council agreed to three newsletters a year if the committee believed
this was possible while at the same time maintaining the high level of presentation.
The 1995 "Spring In The Hills" event was scheduled for May 20th. The Fremont
Hills Country Club had been selected as the site but one of the recently approved
conditions of approval for the club's expansion had been a limitation on people
attending events to 200. It was agreed the committee would look into this
requirement and discuss other possible sites for the event. For the Town Display
Project it was agreed that this display should be rotated around to locations such as
Town Hall, library, Bullis, etc. Roger Burnell reported that the Town Float had not
been done this year due to financial constraints but it was possible that the Float
would be in the Festival of Lights Parade next year if efforts could be coordinated
among various groups. One suggestion was to transfer this project to the local Boy
Scout Troops. Dauber suggested that perhaps the float should be scaled down.
Council briefly addressed the remaining goals proposed by the committee which
%, included in part the following: surveys, community workshops, special programs
and events and a volunteer orientation. It was agreed that the committee had so
many projects to handle that priority should be given to those specifically addressed
at this meeting. Council thanked the Community Relations Committee for all of
their work and contributions to the Town.
3. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLOOR
4.
