CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL,AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> Mayor Siegel called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br /> order at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall. <br /> Present: Mayor Siegel and Councilmembers Casey, Hubbard, Johnson <br /> and Tryon. <br /> Absent: None <br /> Staff: City Manager Thomas Frutchey; City Attorney Sandy Sloan <br /> (present for Closed Session); Director of Public Works Bill Ekern; <br /> Planning Director Ann Jamison; and City Clerk Pat Dowd <br /> Press: None <br /> 1. STUDY SESSION: STAFFING AND COMPENSATION IN PLANNING <br /> DEPARTMENT <br /> The City Manager presented a salary survey to the Council including <br /> Woodside and Portola Valley. He also offered two alternatives <br /> regarding the staffing of the planning department: a zoning <br /> administrator plus the consultant firm of Brian, Kangas Foulk or a <br /> zoning administrator, an associate planner and Brian Kangas Foulk <br /> called upon for some work. The pros and cons of these alternatives <br /> were discussed as well as responsibilities of zoning administrators <br /> and planners. Regional issues and future planning were also <br /> addressed. <br /> Tryon stated she was comfortable with a full-time planner who <br /> would, in part, manage site analysis. She believed the Town needed <br /> and deserved a planner. Casey commented that there was quite a bit <br /> of expertise on the Town's committees to draw from. <br />
