RESOLUTION 45-15 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS AMENDING THE PERSONNEL RULES AND <br /> REGULATIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AB 1522 <br /> WHEREAS, on September 10, 2014 the State of California enacted the Healthy Workplace <br /> Healthy Family Act of 2014 (AB 1522), effective January 1,2015; and <br /> WHEREAS, the AB 1522 paid sick leave provisions are effective July 1, 2015; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Town of Los Altos Hills wishes to establish a paid sick leave policy pursuant to <br /> AB 1522; and <br /> NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does hereby authorize <br /> amendments to the Personnel Rules and Regulations to be read as follows: <br /> 1. Amend Section 2.19—definition of"Immediate Family" in accordance with AB 1522. <br /> 2. Amend Section 5.4 to read that temporary employees are eligible for paid sick leave <br /> provisions in accordance with AB 1522. <br /> 3. Amend Section 6.2 to state that California enacted AB 1522 and specify the requirements <br /> to be met to qualify for paid sick leave, effective July 1, 2015. <br /> 4. Amend Section 6.4 to remove reference of immediate family, as to be defined as stated in <br /> above amendment. <br /> 5. Paid sick leave benefits shall be effective July 1, 2015 and shall remain in effect until <br /> modified, terminated, or rescinded by subsequent resolution of the City Council, or by <br /> changes to applicable State or Federal law. <br /> The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of <br /> Los Altos Hills at a regular meeting held on the 18th day of June, 2015 by the following vote: <br /> AYES: Corrigan, Harpootlian, Larsen, Radford, Waldeck <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> BY: <br /> Co enay Corr' an, r <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Deborah Padoyan, City Clerk <br /> Resolution 45-15 Page 1 <br />
