CONSIDERATION OF CHANGE IN MUNICIPAL ELECTION DATE: <br /> Casey favored the June even option, stating that she believed this <br /> election would result in a high voter turnout and also noting that she <br /> felt the Town' s election would get lost in November elections. Johnson <br /> and Tryon favored November even commenting on the high voter turnout <br /> at these elections . Tryon also commented that if the Town held their <br /> election in November odd years it could be very confusing with the <br /> City of Los Altos ' election. Siegel and van Tamelen supported November <br /> odd noting that several of the cities around the Town had their <br /> elections at this time and they felt it would also result in a high <br /> voter turnout. <br /> Joyce Clarke, 12544 Corbetta Lane, commented that the Council should <br /> change the election date to whichever election had the maximum voter <br /> turnout. <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by van Tamelen, seconded by Siegel <br /> and passed by the following roll call vote to move the Town' s general <br /> municipal election date from April even-numbered years to November <br /> odd-numbered years. <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Casey, Siegel and van Tamelen <br /> NOES: Mayor Tryon and Councilmember Johnson <br /> PASSED BY CONSENSUS: To agendize introduction of the ordinance <br /> 41110, changing the Town ' s election date for the next Council meeting. <br /> C. REORGANIZATION OF THE COUNCIL: <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Casey, seconded by Siegel and <br /> passed by the following roll call vote to re-appoint Tryon as Mayor <br /> for a term ending at the first Council Meeting in September, 1988. <br /> AYES : Councilmembers Casey, Johnson, Siegel and van Tamelen <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSTAIN: Mayor Tryon <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Siegel , seconded by Casey and <br /> passed unanimously to vacate the office of Mayor Pro Tem. <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by van Tamelen, seconded by Siegel <br /> and passed unanimously to appoint Bob Johnson as Mayor Pro Tem for a <br /> term ending the first Council Meeting in September, 1988. <br /> D.
