I , Side I , 001-end <br /> Mayor Tryon called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br /> 7: 00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall . <br /> A. ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: <br /> Present: Mayor Tryon and Councilmembers Dronkert, Plummer, Siegel <br /> and van Tamelen <br /> Absent: None <br /> Staff : City Manager George Scarborough, City Attorney Frank <br /> Gillio, City Engineer Michael Enright, City Planner <br /> 4111/ Nancy Lytle and City Clerk Pat Dowd <br /> Planning <br /> Comm: Judith Carico <br /> B. PRESENTATION BY ROBERT REESE ON SOLID WASTE PLANNING IN SANTA CLARA <br /> COUNTY <br /> Robert Reese, Sunnyvale Councilmember and member of the <br /> Intergovernmental Council ' s Solid Waste Committee, presented an <br /> overview of the annual report on Solid Waste Management in Santa Clara <br /> County to the Council . Of particular interest, Mr. Reese referred to <br /> the Sub-Regional Policy which does not allow exportation of garbage to <br /> different regions within a county. The Committee was evaluating <br /> whether or not this policy met the needs of the County and the subject <br /> would be coming back to the Councils later on in the year with a <br /> report. When asked what actual authority the Committee had, Mr. Reese <br /> noted that although they were an advisory body, he felt they provided <br /> a good source of information to the elected officials who would be <br /> making the final decisions. Council thanked Mr . Reese for his <br /> presentation and expressed their interest in being kept advised of <br /> future developments in this area. <br /> C. CONSENT CALENDAR: <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Siegel , seconded by Dronkert and <br /> passed unanimously to approve the Consent Calendar, specifically: <br />
