ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: <br /> Present: Mayor Tryon and Councilmembers Dronkert, Plummer and <br /> van Tamelen <br /> Absent: Mayor Pro Tem Siegel <br /> Staff : City Manager George Scarborough, City Attorney Frank <br /> Gillio, Director of Public Works Bill Ekern, City Planner <br /> Nancy Lytle and City Clerk Pat Dowd <br /> Planning <br /> Comm: Lee Patmore <br /> Press: Charles Halleck, Los Altos Town Crier <br /> B. PRESENTATION OF PEDESTRIAN SAFETY CITATION FROM THE CALIFORNIA <br /> STATE AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION <br /> Geraldine Hall , Assistant Manager for the California State Automobile <br /> Association in Mountain View, presented Mayor Tryon with an award from <br /> the AAA Pedestrian Protection Program. Ms . Hall noted that since 1937 <br /> this program had focused attention on an overlooked part of the <br /> communities traffic safety problems such as pedestrians. This year <br /> 2 , 600 cities had been evaluated and Los Altos Hills had been singled <br /> out for special recognition. On behalf of the American Automobile <br /> Association and the California State Automobile Association, Ms. Hall <br /> presented the Mayor with a Pedestrian Safety Citation Award. <br /> On behalf of the Town Mayor Tryon thanked Ms. Hall for the Pedestrian <br /> Safety Citation Award and also thanked staff, the Sheriff ' s Department <br /> and everyone who helped make this award possible. <br /> C.
