ROIL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: <br />Present: Mayor van Tamelen and Councilmembers, Dronkert and Tryon <br />Absent: Councibrember Rydell <br />Staff: George Scarborough, City Manager; Frank Gillio, City Attorney; <br />Michael Enright, City Engineer; Nancy Lytle, Town Planner; <br />Leslie Mullins, Deputy City Clerk <br />Planning <br />Corm: Caomissioner Jean Struthers <br />Press: Jon Baker, San Jose Mercury; Mary Fortney, Peninsula Times Tribune; <br />Nuke McDevitt, Los Altos Town Crier <br />B. APPOINTMENT TO CITY COUNCIL: <br />MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Tryon, seconded by Dronkert and passed <br />unanimously by all members present to Adopt Resolution #138-86, Appointing <br />William M. Siegel to City COuncil because of his exceptional qualifications. <br />Tenn to fill Fubrman's Vacancy and will expire April 1988. <br />Mayor van Tamelen noted there will be another vacancy on the City Council in <br />November, which term will also expire in April 1988. <br />Mayor van Tamelen indicated Mr. Siegel will be installed as a new member of <br />the City Council at the October 15, 1986 City Council Meeting. <br />Councilloember Dronkert thanked all other applicants who interviewed for Council <br />vacancy. Csuncilmember Tryon asked that all applicants interviewed receive <br />Agendas for the next Council Appointment, noting we will not re -interview candidates, <br />L�gw 1.1 a a 1•• <br />Mr. Scarborough informed Council there are two new items to be set for public <br />hearing for the October 15, 1986 Agenda: <br />5. Lands of Handley, 13818 Page Mill Road, Appeal of Planning Ccrmission <br />Decision for Conditional Use Permit, Variance and Site Development <br />Permit for Secondary Dwelling Unit <br />6. Lands of Scarff, 26026 Scarff Way, Appeal of Planning Commission Decision <br />for Conditional Use Permit, Variance and Site Development Permit for <br />Secondary Dwelling Unit <br />
