CONSENT GAL.ENDAR: Item Removed (continued) : <br />AWW MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: moved by Allison, seconded by Perkins and passed <br />unanimously to amend the January 18, 1984 minutes as follows: Page Two, Item 4.a) <br />paragraph one should read: ".......measure: Flood Plain designation on Lots #1 <br />and #2 which are within the one hundred (100) year storm flood plain."; page 4, <br />Item 3, paragraph one should read: "The City Council accepted the 1/13/84 staff <br />report presented by the City Engineer/Planner which included the statement from <br />the Planning Commission meeting of 1/11/84 on the Arastra Lands."; page 4, item <br />F.la) references should be made to the concept of 'Dial -Agenda' rather than to <br />'Dial -An -Agenda'. <br />C. PRESENPATIONS FRxd THE FLOOR: none <br />D. SPECIAL ORDERS: <br />Ordinance # of the City of the Tuan of Los Altos Hills amending <br />Chapter 1 of Title 8 to adopt by reference the 1982 Edition of the Uniform <br />Building Code, including the appendix thereto, and the Un form Building <br />Code Standards, 1982 Edition; adding Chapter 1.6 to adopt by reference the <br />CABO One and Two Family Dwelling Code, 1983 Edition; amending Chapter 2 of <br />Title 8 to adopt by reference the 1984 Edition of the National Electrical <br />Code; amending Chapter 5 of Title 8 to adopt by reference the Uniform <br />Plumbing Code, 1982 Edition; and amending Chapter 4 0£ Title 8 to adopt by <br />reference the Uniform mechanical Code, 1982 Edition, respectively, of <br />the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code (FIRST READING) <br />ibr The Building Official noted that this ordinance was before Council for adoption <br />to bring the Town in conformance with state law. The codes are periodically <br />updated and the most current axles should be utilized. In addition, the Building <br />Official explained that the fee schedules for electrical, mechanical and plumbing <br />had not been updated for seven years and needed to be increased to correspond to <br />those in neighboring ca mnities. <br />The City Attorney reoamended the following anenfient to Section 304, #3: 'A <br />final deposit fee shall be required of all applicants for a building permit for <br />construction of, additions to or remodeling of a single family dwelling as <br />follows: a) If the estimated value of the work is Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) <br />or more, the fee shall be an amount equal to one (1) percent of the estimated <br />value of the work for which the permit is issued, but not to exceed Five Hundred <br />Dollars ($500); b) If the estimated value of the work is less than Ten Thousand <br />Dollars ($10,000), the fee shall be One Hundred Dollars ($100). The final deposit <br />fee shall be refunded within thirty (30) days following the making of a final <br />inspection and approval thereof by the Building Official. If a final inspection <br />is not requested and obtained prior to expiration of the permit, the final deposit <br />fee shall be forfeited to the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills.' <br />Council discussed the proposed amendment to the ordinance, the amount of the final <br />deposit fee required and the proposed fee schedules. <br />MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by van Tamelen, seconded by Hillestad and passed <br />unanimously to change the $500 final deposit fee to $1,000. <br />50Z <br />
