CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - August 1, 1984 <br />D. REPORTS FF40M CHAINVEN OF THE OMWITY REIATICNS, FINANCE, POLLUTION CONTROL, <br />FDADS AND DRAINAGE AMID SAFETY COMMITTEES (continued): <br />3. Edward Barnes, Chairman - Community Relations Committee, presented his <br />report dated 7 31 84 which included a reevaluation of the charges of his <br />committee. In addition Mr. Barnes com ented that it was the committee's <br />opinion that a questionnaire would be the best way to obtain input from <br />the residents. The committee would also like to see an organization formed <br />to welcome new residents to the c m uni ty. Mr. Barnes requested Council <br />to authorize his committee to investigate involving residents on an ad hoc <br />committee basis for certain projects. In conclusion, Mr. Barnes noted that <br />the reception for the new city manager was scheduled for September 27, 1984. <br />PASSED BY CONSENSUS: To authorize the Chairman of the Community Relations <br />Committee to appoint ad hoc committees to work on certain projects within <br />the framework of the camdttee's charges. <br />John Dannenberq, Chairman - Roads_ and Drainage Committee, reported that his <br />committee agreed with the charges set forth in Resolution #1558. To date <br />they had not elected a chairman for the caning year. Rydell suggested that <br />a member of the Roads and Drainage Committee attend Planning Commission <br />meetings when appropriate. However, Mr. D.innenberg commented that due to <br />other commitments it was difficult for his members to attend these meetings. <br />It was agreed that a telephone report to the commission as a supplement to <br />the cammittze's minutes on certain issues could be helpful. Commissioner <br />Lachenbruch stated that he was liaison to the Roads and Drainage Committee <br />and would attempt to schedule better attendance at their meetings. <br />PASSED BY CONSENSUS: To discuss Item I.1 Report on Proposed Town Newsletter Policy <br />at this point in the agenda. <br />5. Report on Proposed Town Newsletter Policy <br />Mike Myers Community Relations Committee, presented the proposed Town newsletter <br />policy to the Council dated 7/21/84. <br />MDTION SECONDED AMID CARRIED: Moved by van Tamelen, seconded by Plmhanan and passed <br />unanimously by all members present to approve the Town Newsletter Policy dated <br />7/21/84 with the deletion of the following sentence: 'The Tamm Council shall provide <br />an appropriate budget for the newsletter and make available clerical help as needed.' <br />SPECIAL ORDERS: <br />1. Ordinance #288 amending Title 6 of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code <br />entitled "Sanitation and Health" by adding thereto Chapter 5 entitled <br />"Mosquito Abatement" (SEMV READING) <br />M7PION SECONDED AMID CARRIED: Moved by van. Tamelen, seconded by Fuhlman and passed <br />unanimously by all members present to waive further reading of Ordinance #288. <br />MDTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Fluhrman, seconded by van Tamelen and passed <br />unanimously by all manbers present to adopt Ordinance #288. <br />-2- <br />
