City Manager (continued): <br />b) Termite Inspection of Tam Hall <br />The City Manager reported that the termite inspection had been conducted on <br />4/26/82 and it confirmed that termites were found both in Tam Hall and in <br />Council Chambers. Council had before them the estimate for correcting this <br />situation and also a list of findings and recamuandations from the termite <br />control company. <br />Frank Saul, 27977 Via Ventana, asked if other bids had been cbtained for this <br />project. Council responded that no other bids had been obtained; however, the <br />firm in question had been highly recommended by residents of the Tuan. Further <br />it was noted that for each inspection report there would be a basic charge for <br />the inspection undertaken. <br />MOTION SECONDED ASID CARRIED: Moved by Allison, seconckd by Perkins and passed <br />unanimously to approve fumigation and termite control of Tam Hall and Council <br />Chambers and to authorize the City Manager to spend $2,275 tarard this end. <br />c) Street Repair on Altamont Road near Corbetta Lane <br />MOTION SECDNDED AMID CARRIED: Moved by Proft, seconded by Perkins and passed unani- <br />mously to authorize transfer of $6,815 from the unappropriated finds for am <br />gency road work at Altamont and Corbetta. <br />d) El Monte Traffic Conditions <br />The City Manager reported that apparently people were still traveling both ways <br />on E1 Monte in spite of the fact that it was posted one way. Several suggestions <br />were made to make this area safer, i.e. designate the Sheriff's deputy to spend <br />more time m that particular area; designate Foothill College's security patrol <br />to be stationed there; and close that section of E1 Monte. <br />MOTION SECONDED AMID CARRIFn: Moved by Allison, seconded by Proft and passed unani- <br />mously to authorize the City Manager to take any necessary steps to ensure the <br />safety of the section of E1 Monte at Foothill College, including the closing of <br />E1 Monte in that area if necessary. <br />e) Community Health Abuse Council Funding <br />Allison asked the City Manager if funding was possible at the present time for <br />CHAC. The City Manager responded that due to the amount of funds on hand and <br />the expenditures arising because of storm related emergencies, she did not <br />recommend funding at this time. However, it would be considered at budget dis- <br />cussions for FY 1983-84. <br />f) Solid Waste Management JPA Surcharge <br />In response to a request from Allison, the City Manager noted that a staff report <br />would be prepared on this subject prior to the next Council meeting. <br />-3- <br />
