CITY COLICA. MINurES - October 6, 1982 <br />F. GENERAL OFDFFS AMID UNFINISHED BUSINESS (continued): <br />3. Willi,,,on Act Contract - Request from Westlake Development for cancellation <br />of contract (continued from 7/21/82 Council Meeting) <br />The City Attorney explained the background for petitions to withdraw from the <br />Williamson Act Contracts. He caamented on the public hearing procedure and noted <br />that this was a one-time opportunity during which the usual requirements and <br />procedures were not in effect. It was again noted that Council had no control <br />over these requests for withdrawal. <br />Kenneth Bleyattorney for Westlake Dsvelogz ent, reported that they had protested <br />Cance aLen eea as orn.g yes by the Assessor's Office, had <br />received a reduced set of cancellation fees for the properties in question, and <br />were requesting approval of their petition to withdraw from the Williamson Act <br />Contract. <br />MOTION SEODNDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Hillestad, seconded by Perkins and passed <br />unanimously by all members present to adopt Resolution #1990 ordering the tentative <br />approval of the cancellation of a contract under the Williamson Act (Lands of <br />Westlake). <br />G. NEW BUSINESS: <br />1. People WhO Care Recycling <br />Noreen Ford, Director, People Who Care Recycling, addressed the Council concerning <br />her menorandnrm dated 9 29 82 idr discussed in part the closure of the Edith <br />Avenue/san Antonio Iniad recycling center and the possibility of a recycling depot <br />located at an easily accessible site in Los Altos Hills. <br />Council discussed the importance of this issue and Hillestad suggested neetings <br />with the Tuan, People Who Care Recycling, Mr. Itenati - RAs Altos Garbage Company <br />and Tom Henderson (SPA). It was noted that the siting of the bins was the most <br />difficult aspect of the problem. It was agreed that the Acting City Manager would <br />meet with representatives of People Who Care Recycling to discuss alternatives, <br />site locations, etc. and would present a report at the .rent Council meeting. <br />2. Reimbursement for expenses to AHAG Meeting, October 2, 1982 - van Tamelen <br />It was noted that the Mayor had asked van Tamelen to attend this meeting after <br />the last Council meeting which was the reason approval was not requested before <br />the event. <br />MXION SECOMED AND CARRIED: Moved by Hillestad, seconded by van Tamelen and passed <br />unanimously by all members present to approve reimbursemment of expenses to van Tamele. <br />for the October 2, 1982 ABAG meeting. <br />Alma Wood 12151 Stonebrook, questioned the exact amount to be reimbursed. Council <br />noted the amount was $57.50 ($37.50 registration and $20.00 transportation). <br />-5- <br />
