CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - May 20, 1981 <br />G. NEW BUSINESS (continued): <br />3. Public Safety <br />MDTION SENNDED AMID CARRIED: Moved by McReynolds, seconded by Nystrom and <br />passed by the following roll call vote to adopt Resolution #1354 creating a <br />public safety department for the City of the Town of los Altos Hills and <br />establishing the date for its activation. <br />x <br />AYES: Councilmembers Hillestad, McReynolds and Nystrom <br />NOES: Mayor Proft <br />ABSENT: Councilman Perkins <br />MFITION SECONE D AMID CARRIED: Moved by McReynolds, seconded by Nystrom and <br />passed by the following roll call vote to instruct the City Manager to recruit <br />a Director for the Public Safety Department. <br />AYES: Councilmambers Hillestad, McReynolds and Nystrom <br />NOES: Mayor Proft <br />ABSENT: Councilman Perkins <br />MDTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by McReynolds, seconded by Nystrom and <br />passed by the following roll call vote to instruct the City Manager to prepare <br />guidelines, qualifications and a recommended salary structure for the position <br />of Director of Public Safety and return this information to Council for their <br />consideration. <br />kw AYES: Counciln*nbers Hillestad, McReynolds and Nystrom <br />NOES: Mayor Proft <br />ABSENT: Councilman Perkins <br />4. 1981-82 Budget <br />The City Manager advised Council that he would have the 1981-82 budget done by <br />approximately May 29. When this was accomplished Council would then schedule <br />budget sessions to study the proposed budget. <br />5. Town Newsletter <br />Hillestad complimented staff on the May 1981 Newsletter. <br />H.
