LM <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - Decenber 3, 1980 <br />l.a) Public Safety Report (continued): <br />Councilmenbess discussed these options, specifically options two and three. <br />McReynolds and Hillestad supported option three, noting that option two was <br />a continuation of a contract that was not workable. Perkins stated that the District <br />must be autonomous acid was against canceling the contract. Proft stressed the <br />importance of waiting for the reccumeidations of the Ad Hoc Public Safety Study <br />Committee. <br />MOTION SECONDED AMID FAILED: Moved by Perkins, seconded by Nystrom and failed <br />by the following roll call vote that the Town of Los Altos Hills reccnmends to <br />the Board of Supervisors that the Ice Altos Fire Protection District be made <br />autonomous and independent of the Board of Supervisors as the governing board <br />of the Fire District. <br />AYES: Mayor Nystrom and Councilman Perkins <br />NOES: Councilmembers Hillestad, McReynolds and Proft <br />Council agreed with McReynolds suggestion to continue this discussion at an <br />adjourned meeting on Monday, December 8, 1980 at 9:30 p.m. <br />2. City Attorney's Report <br />The City Attorney presented his report and a copy of the ordinance for adoption <br />concerning subcontractor's business licences. <br />MYTION SECONDED AMID CARRIED: Moved by Proft, seconded by Perkins and passed <br />unanimously to waive further reading of Ordinance #266. <br />MOTION SEXONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Proft, seconded by Perkins and passed <br />unanimously to introduce Ordinance #266 amending Article 1 of Chapter 1 entitled <br />"Business Licenses" of Title 3 of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code, and by <br />amending subsection (a) of Section 3-1.111. <br />E. SPECIAL ORDERS <br />Regarding the Town's proposed purchase of the Palo Alto Unified School District <br />property (Page Mull/Alexis School Site), the City Attorney outlined the necessary <br />steps to be taken. The procedure included the adoption of the following three <br />resolutions and minute order. <br />MOTION SECONDED ASID CARRIED: Moved by Hillestad, seconded by Perkins and passed <br />unanimously to adopt Resolution #1318 finding and determining that public lands <br />in the vicinity of the Page Mill/Alexis school site are inadequate for outdoor <br />recreational and open space community purposes. <br />MOTION SECONDED ASID CARRIED: Moved by Perkins, seconded by Hillestad and passed <br />unanimously to adopt Resolution #1319 establishing and creating a special fund <br />to be called the "Revenue Fund". <br />-2- <br />
