II, 001 -End <br />Mayor Thomas McReynolds called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:40 p.m. <br />in the Council Chambers of Town Hall. <br />A. ROLL CALL & PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: <br />Present: Mayor McReynolds, Councilmembers Hillestad, Nystrom, Perkins and Proft. <br />Absent: None. <br />Staff: City Manager Robert Crowe, City Attorney Frank Gillio, City Engineer John <br />Carlson, Commissioner Joseph Dochnahl for the Planning Commission and Deputy <br />City Clerk Susan Buttler. <br />Press: Florence Pallakoff, Los Altos Town Crier. <br />B. CONSENT CALENDAR: <br />Councilman Perkins asked for removal of Item B.4. a) for separate consideration. <br />MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Councilman Proft, seconded by Councilman Nystrom <br />and passed unanimously to approve the balance of the Consent Calendar, specifically: <br />1. Approval of Minutes: April 2, 1979 <br />2. Approval of Warrants: $38,794.15. <br />3. Motions for Adoption - Motion setting May 2, 1979 as the Public Hearing date for <br />the following Tentative Map application: <br />a) LANDS OF LOW, File TM #2088-78. <br />Motion granting time extension to May 31, 1979 for Planning Commission consideration <br />of the following: <br />b) LANDS OF JOHNSON, File TM #2098-79. <br />Thereafter, Councilman Perkins questioned the wording of the Agreement for which approval <br />was sought by Item B.4. a) and whether the City Attorney had reviewed this matter. Staff <br />provided explanation for the need to participate in the Joint Powers Agreement, that it <br />was a vehicle for obtaining grant funds and that it was legally sound. <br />MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Councilman Proft, seconded by Councilman Perkins <br />and passed unanimously to adopt Resolution #1192 approving Joint Powers Agreement for <br />Criminal Justice Planning and Administration. <br />C. SPECIAL REPORTS: <br />1. Reports of Standing Committees: <br />L Mrs. Yeend, Chairman/Traffic & Public Safety Committee, advised that all was in order for <br />the April 22nd Mayor's Safety Awareness Run, commended the crew and staff for their help <br />in getting things ready for the race and stated that there should be between 200 and 250 <br />runners participating. <br />Councilmembers thank Mrs. Yeend for all the hard work she had put in to make this race <br />safe and successful. <br />
