CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - September 20, 1978 <br />B. CONSENT CALENDAR: (Continued) <br />Councilman Perkins questioned the Resolution in Item 4. a) and Council discussion <br />followed with the City Manager outlining how local tax money feeds into these grant <br />funds and that he felt there would be no problems In utilizing these funds for the <br />expansion of Byrne Preserve. <br />Mrs. Youngman, Black Mtn. Road, asked If this was for the corridor extension to Moody <br />Road and was advised that It was. <br />Mr. Laws, Hooper Lane, stated that the property to be purchased had been gift deeded <br />to the Town some time ago. <br />Mayor Pro Tem McReynolds told of the problems experienced in gaining clear title to <br />the gift area and reasons for the proposed Resolution. <br />MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Councilman Nystrom, seconded by Councilman <br />Perkins and passed unanimously by all members present to adopt Resolution #1154 approving <br />the application for grant funds under the Roberti-Z'Berg Urban Open -Space and Recreation <br />Program. <br />C. SPECIAL REPORTS: <br />I. Reports of Standing Committees: Environmental Design Committee. <br />The City Manager read portions of a report from the Chalrman of the Environmental Design <br />Committee relative to industrial development and road Improvements proposed by the City <br />of Palo Alto along Arastradero Road. Discussion ensued on limitations that might be <br />placed on the development of Arastradero Road, proposed public hearings, the need for <br />complete cooperation between the two cities to arrive at the best compromise and the <br />most effective means of presenting the Town's viewpoints. <br />MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Councilman Nystrom, seconded by Councilman Perkins <br />and carried unanimously by all members present to direct the Planning Commission to take <br />the lead In formulating the Town's and Council's position with the City of Palo Alto <br />relative to the Arastradero Road Improvement Project In order to Insure a smooth transt- <br />tlon from low density residential to an Industrial area. <br />2. Reports of Ad Hoc Committees: None <br />3. Presentations from the Floor: <br />Mrs. Wood, Stonebrook Drive, questioned when a hearing would be held on adopt the Budget <br />and was told It was being scheduled for the October 4, 1978 meeting. <br />D. STAFF - REPORTS. CORRESPONDENCE 8 ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br />1. City Attorney: <br />a) Accident Claim - Jerbe Jerry Buschini. <br />The City Attorney introduced the late claim and advised the Council to deny It. <br />MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Councilman Perkins, seconded by Councilman Nystrom <br />and passed unanimously by ail members present to reject the application to file a late <br />claim by Jerbe Jerry Buschlni on the basis that the claimant had one year to file after <br />the accident and took no action. Council recommended referral of this claim to the Town's <br />r Insurance carrier. <br />�/ As the Applicant's representative was now available, It was Council determination to <br />return to Item 3. a) of the Consent Calendar. <br />IWA <br />
