ROLL CALL: <br />Present: Councilman Brown, Grabowski, Proft, Councilwoman Hillestad, Mayor Cheney, <br />and Planning Commission Representative Stewart. Absent: None <br />Staff: City Manager Robert Crowe, City Attorney Frank Gillio, City Engineer <br />Alex Russell, Secretary Ethel Hopkins <br />B. CONSENT CALENDAR: <br />MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: It was moved by Councilman Brown and seconded by <br />Councilman Grabowski to approve the items on the Consent Calendar, specifically: <br />1. Approval of Minutes: August 4, 1976 (Regular Meeting) <br />August 6, 1976 (Adjourned Meeting) <br />2. Approval of Warrants: $10,489.01 <br />AYES: Councilman Brown, Proft, Councilwoman Hillestad, Mayor Cheney <br />NOES: None <br />ABSTAIN: Councilman Grabowski abstained because he had been absent. <br />C. SPECIAL REPORTS: <br />Scientific Advisory Group for Environmental Services (S.A.G.E.S.) - <br />Mr. Bill Tierney: <br />Mr. Dean Ladd and Mr. Bill Tierney addressed the Council concerning the <br />help that the Lockheed Management Association S.A.G.E.S. Group was willing <br />to give the Town. They noted that it was at Mayor Cheney's request that <br />they had come to help the Town with scientific technology for items that <br />the budget could not provide for. They noted that they had worked actively <br />with the cities of Saratoga, Mountain View, Cupertino and Sunnyvale offering <br />services particularly in the area of noise pollution. It was not their <br />intent to take legitimate jobs from professional people, but to offer on a <br />volunteer basis the scientific technology that had been developed at tax- <br />payers' expense. <br />Mrs. Bets, Fiksdal Pathw�aY Committee spoke from the floor asking if S.A.G.E.S. <br />c�a help wit�t cF—nica s� Ntions to the problems of surfaces on trails, <br />erosion problems on footpaths, and the design of bridges on paths. <br />
