CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - March 20, 1974 <br />C. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLOOR: <br />1. The Citizens of the Town, reoresented by fir. Keith Brown, Black <br />Mountain Road, addressed the Council and audience on the years of time <br />and service donated to the Town by former Mayor Leslie A. Helgesson. To <br />express their appreciation, Councilman Helgesson was prssented with a <br />silver tray and cake, and Mrs. Helgesson was presented with a bouquet of <br />flowers. <br />Mrs. T. Schick, Heston Road, representing the Los-Altos:H,iils . - <br />Association, presented Former Mayor Helgesson with a floral table <br />arrangement. <br />Former Mayor (now Councilman) Helgesson thanked everyone for their <br />expressions of appreciation. <br />D. CONTINUING BUSINESS: <br />1. A000intrr2rits to Abeat.mnt Environmental <br />umos t eegn District o isr omm <br />Councilwoman Miller stated that she would like to have more press coverage <br />and publicity for the Noise Abatement Committee vacancies before nominating <br />taw citizens to fill the current vacancies. <br />Council consensus was to agenda nominations to this Coamittee until the <br />meeting of April 4, 1974. <br />Environmental Design Committee: <br />Councilman Helgesson nominated Mr. Christopher M. Smith and Dr. Lawrence <br />M. Hamilton to fill the two vacancies on this Committee. There being <br />no further nominations, Council voted unanimously to appoint the above <br />to the Environmental Design Committee for a two year term. <br />District #4. Public Works Cemmitteg: <br />Councilman McReynolds nominated Mr. David Proft to fill the existing <br />vacancy. Council unanimously voted to appoint Mr. Proft to District #4 <br />of the newly established Committee. <br />E. ADDITIONAL BUSINESS BY COUNCILMEN! <br />1. Mayor Grabowski: <br />Requested City Attorney Frank Gillio for an opinion concerning the bill <br />currently in the Senate that would repeal Article 34 of the State <br />Constitution regarding public housing. <br />WAW Mr. Gillio said he would have a Report prepared for next meeting. <br />-2- <br />
