CITY COUNCIL <br />TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br />MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING <br />v June 12, 1973 <br />Mayor Leslie A. Helgesson called the Special Meeting of the City Council of <br />the Town of Los Altos Hills to order at 4:05 PM on Tuesday, June 12, 1973, <br />at Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, with the following members <br />answering the roll call: Councilmen Davey, Grabowski, Kubby, Miller, and Mayor <br />Helgesson. <br />Mayor <br />reviewise proposed budgetfor <br />this <br />was <br />FiscalSpecial <br />1973-749 called for the purpose <br />ofngth <br />Further to an inquiry of the City Manager by Councilman Grabowski, and following <br />discussion, as to whether the City Manager had considered including a line item <br />in the proposed budget for reserve for legal defense, specifically referring. to <br />the De La Raza Suit, Councilman Davey asked that the record show that there is <br />no ordinance specifying $.05 on the tax rate for litigation for the De La Raza <br />Suit, but that litigation was given as an explanation for the tax rate being <br />raised, and that the rate included $.08 for the categorized funds by ordinance -- <br />$.05 for open space acquisition and $.03 for drainage. <br />Additionaity <br />by <br />ity Council <br />regardinglthescussion proposedand budgetstions of followed.thNoOactionnwasrtakenhonOthe budget. <br />tt Speaking from the floor, Mr. John Voulkos, representing the Daughters of Charity, <br />�r Los Altos Hills, presented an invitation to the Town to participate in clearing <br />a grave of eucalyptus trees on the Daughters of Charity property, the Fire Dept. <br />of Los Altos having required the Order to do such clearing. Mr. Voutkos stated <br />that the request is based upon the fact that some of the trees in the grove <br />belong to the Town and that some expense could be saved by both the Town and <br />the Daughters of Charity in arranging a joint clearing project. <br />It was agreed by the Council that the matter be postponed, the City Manager <br />being requested to obtain an opinion from the City Attorney as to the Town's <br />responsibility for the grove, and to obtain additional information as to the <br />scope of the project from the City Engineer, as well as further information <br />regarding the costs involved. <br />ADJOURNMENT: 5:35 PM <br />V <br />Karen R.
