The question Dr. Evans then asked <br />was if the Council wanted her to proceed. <br />Councilman Srabowski asked clarification of funJing: i.e., 90% Federal, 10% State, <br />0% County, 0% Municipality. Discussion then centered around proposing a reduction <br />of speed and the feasibility of banning trucks. Councilman kliller stated she was <br />interested in the reduction of speed as there was a great deal of evidence that if <br />speed is reduced then noise level is reduced. <br />Speaking from the floor, John Denenberg commented on vehicular noise reduction. <br />Councilman Davey felt steps should be taken to discuss this proposal with the State <br />and stated she was in favor of lowering the speed limit and having vehicular control. <br />Councilman Grabowski stated that there had been the suggestion at a previous meeting <br />to install weighing stations to discourage truckers and asked Dr. Evans for torments. <br />It was felt there could be more noise generated by the trucks pulling in an'! out of <br />these stations. <br />Hr. David Janson asked for clarification on the lenoth of time it would take to <br />complete this study. <br />Dr. Evans asked Council approval and yelp from both Council and Staff to work with <br />the State and Federal governments. <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Davey moved, seconded by Miller and <br />carried unanimously to authorize Dr. Evans to proceed further in obtaining noise <br />attenuation in the Hills. <br />AOTIOl1, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Grabowski moved, seconded by Davey and <br />carried unanimously to discuss Unscheduled Item No. 8 on the agenda at this time. <br />UNSCHEDULED ITEM NO. 8: <br />REQUEST OR AUTHOPIWIOM TO SEND LETTER TO BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RE: REDUCTION OF <br />NOISE old FOOTHILL EXPRESSWAY <br />Dr. Evans reviewed the letter which has been written to the Board of Supervisors <br />re: reduction of noise on Foothill Expressway.
