CITY COUNCIL <br />+40 TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br />MINUTES OF A REGULAR I4EETING <br />April 19, 1971 <br />REEL 35 SIDE 2, TRACK 2 --FOOTAGE 00-838 <br />Mayor Walter A. Benson called the Regular Meeting of the City Council of the <br />Town of Los Altos Hills to order at 7:50 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the <br />Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, with the following members <br />answering roll call: Present: Councilmen Corbett, Davey, Helgesson and <br />Mayor Benson. Absent: Councilman Grabowski. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE: Chairman Weisbart <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes of March 29, 1971 and April 5, 1971 were not <br />yet available for approval. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />1. Letter from Mr. Oscar Sobel, 28266 Christopher lane, objected to garbage <br />rate increase. <br />2. Palo Alto Mayor Wheatley advised of their intent to provide cable TV <br />AW as a municipal service and indicated their willingness to embrace any in- <br />terested neighboring communities. <br />3. Santa Clara County advised of formation of a Regional Criminal Justice <br />Planning Board to assume responsibility of a ,former ARAG function. The <br />group will be comprised of one elected representative from each of the cities <br />within the County. Additional information will be supplied within the coming <br />months as to its goals. Mayor Henson noted Councilman Grabowski's representat. <br />- <br />tion would be of value due to his active participation with the Traffic and <br />Public Safety Committee. <br />4. City of Los Altos requested and was given Council concurrence that they <br />should proceed with preparation of a cost-sharing agreement for maintenance <br />of a traffic signal at the corner of El Monte and O'Keefe. <br />5. Transmitted letter from Mr. Jack Ybarra with clipping from San Jose Sun <br />re: low income Mexican American families being displaced as a result of sub- <br />standard dwellings being razed to provide for further urban development. <br />6. Letter from Faber L. Johnston Jr. noted the court had issued a memorandum <br />decision which favored the Town in the suit involving Adobe Creek Lodge, <br />The City Attorney noted the defendant has 60 days in which to file an appeal <br />following the date the judgment becomes final. <br />SCHEDULED ITEM NO. 1: <br />` LANDS OF WHEELER 377-71) 3 lots, 15.7 acres, Engineer, Sandis & Associates. <br />4r City Manager advised the applicant had requested that this -item be continued <br />to May 17, 1971. Council concurred. Floor participation was heard from <br />Messrs. H. N. Reiser, 27660 Central Drive, David Jansson, 27440 Sherlock <br />Road, and A. M, Laws, 11210 Hooper Lane. <br />
