S.02 Part-time clerk, telephone, postage <br />.05 Litigation (zoning suit) <br />.05 Increased Sheriff's costs <br />.03 Drainage assessment <br />Total T15 <br />Floor comments were heard from Mrs. Millie .Saviane, Chairman of the Pathway Committee, <br />Mrs. Diane Miller, 13076 Vista del Valle Court and Dr. Marjorie Evans, 14511 DeBell Dr. <br />Council discussion noted that although the Town's tax rate had not changed since in- <br />corporation, they reluctantly had no alternative but to increase the 25 cent tax rate <br />due to the rapid inflationary trend to maintain current minimal services and to up- <br />hold the Town's Zoning ordinances against the pending litigation. They concurred <br />with the needed areas requiring attention in fulfilling planning and pathway needs <br />but noted the tight budget necessitated limitations on these expenditures at this time. <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Helgesson moved, seconded by Grabowski and <br />carried unanimously to proceed under Ordinances with the first reading of the ordinances <br />pertaining to the 1971-72 Budget. <br />SCHEDULED ITEM NO. 4: <br />ACTION ON PENDING LEGISLATIVE MATTERS. <br />Councilman Grabowski reported on the several bills before the State Legislature. <br />Council concurred that staff be directed to transmit to the legislatures opposition <br />to AB3024, AB1301, AB1303 (related to State control of local zoning) and SM174 which <br />would restrict expenditure of Gas Tax funds to maintenance of the Select Road System. <br />DNSCHE ULED ITEM NO. 1: <br />APPROVE NAME by -"CHAPARRAL WAY" FOR PRIVATE ROAD THAT SERVES MC REYNOLDS AND POOLE, <br />RESIDENCES. <br />Staff noted the Fire Department and Planning Commission both approved the name of <br />"Chaparral Way" for this private road. Staff recommended approval and Council con- <br />curred. <br />POTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Helgesson moved, seconded by Grabowski and <br />carried unanimously to approve the name of "Chaparral Way" for the private road serv- <br />ing the McReynolds and Poole residences. <br />UNSCHEDULED ITEM NO. 2: <br />APPOINT VMEMBERS TO THE CITIZENS COMMITTEE ON OPEN SPACE. <br />Mayor Benson announced the following appointments to the Open Space Committee, com- <br />prised of the seven Planning Commissioners and ten citizens. <br />Area I - Mr. Bruce Meyer, 13100 Byrd Lane; Mr. Dick Stark, 13686 Page Mill <br />Road; and Commissioner Priscilla Weisbart. <br />Area II - Mr. Ray Beimaoth, 26355 Esperanza Drive; Mr, Ron Presnell, 12688 <br />Is Cresta Court; and Commissioner James Mueller. <br />Area III- Mrs. Helen Shepherd, 13961 Fremont Pines Lane; Mr, Art Bussi, <br />6140 25980 Todd Lane; and Commissioners William Perkins and William <br />Magruder. <br />-3- <br />
