SCHEDULED ITEM NO. 6: <br />REQUEST FOR PROCEDURAL RESOLUTIONS TO PLACE THE REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT UPON <br />THE 1972 MUNICIPAL BALLOT. <br />This item was placed on the agenda at the request of Councilman Grabowski, <br />but he stated he had not sensed sufficient support to place an advisory vote <br />res the proposed Regional Park upon the April ballot and therefore withdrew <br />his request. <br />Letters were read from the Hampton Foothills Homeowners Association and the <br />Green Cnmittee urging the Tam continue support of the Regional Park District. <br />UNSCHEDULED ITEM NO, l: <br />PRESENTATION OF DRAINAGE WORK ON ADOBE CREEK BY SANTA CLARA COUNTY FLOOD <br />CONTROL AND WATER DISTRICT. <br />Mr. J. Fowler of the S/C County Flood Control and Water District presented <br />their proposal for drainage work to be done on Adobe Creek, between Tepa <br />Way and Foothill College. The channel proposed for construction would be <br />8' wide at the bottom, 8' deep and about 10' wide at the top. For safety a <br />42" high fence was also proposed and the concrete would be earthen pigmented <br />to attain a natural appearance. Discussion noted that although the District <br />Board had no legal requirement to receive concurrence of the Town for the <br />$300,000 project, it was its desire to cooperate with the Town's wishes. <br />Following discussion, the Council concurred to hold a public hearing at <br />8:00 P.M. on December 6, 1971, <br />4 UNSC�DULED ITEM NO. 2• <br />PRESENTATION OF PICTURES OF PROPOSED SISTER CITY - ST. EMILION, FRANCE. <br />Dr. and Mrs. Robert L. Paddock, 10701 Magdalena Road presented pictures of <br />St. Bmilion taken during a recent visit. The narrated home movies showed <br />the local environs and vineyards. Council appreciation was expressed to <br />Dr, and Mrs. Paddock for their excellent films. <br />UNSCHEDULED ITEM NO. 3s <br />REPORT ON CATV - Councilman Corbett. <br />Councilman Corbett requested and Council concurred to continue this item <br />to allow additional preparation. <br />UNSCHEDULEDITEM NO. 4• <br />REPORT FROM MAP& PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE. <br />Staff reviewed that the T & P5 Committee had unanimously recommended to the <br />City Council that Purissima Road, between Arastradero and Elena Roads, have <br />the maximum speed limit increased from 25 to 35 mph. It was noted that since <br />this is a straight stretch of road with few driveways and roads entering, <br />35 mph appeared to be a safe speed. Floor participation included Committee <br />chairman R. C. Cheney as well as Pathway Committee Chairman M. Saviano. <br />Council concurred. <br />L MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Helgesson moved, seconded by Corbett <br />and carried unanimously to increase the maximum speed limit from 25 aph to <br />35 mph on Purissima Road, between Arastradero and Elena Roads and directed <br />the City Attorney to prepare an Ordinance amending such. <br />-3- <br />
