SCHEDULED ITEM NO. 1: Bids cont'd.: <br />City Attorney introduced and read in its entirety Resolution No. 584, a <br />resolution of the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills rejecting all <br />bids fox construction of bicycle path along portion of Purissima Road. <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Helgesson moved, seconded by <br />Davey and carried unanimously by roll call vote, that Resolution No. 584 <br />be adopted as read. <br />MOTION AND SECOND: Councilman Benson moved, seconded by Helgesson, that the <br />Council approve the City Manager's recommendation and instruct the City <br />Manager to carry out path work on a day -labor basis. <br />Council discussion ensued, including path design and location, with Floor <br />participation by Mrs. M. Saviano, Pathway Committee Chairman. <br />AMENDMENT VOTE: Above Motion was amended to add ", the City Manager to <br />work with the Pathway Committee regarding path location and path design." <br />The Amended Motion was carried unanimously by roll call vote. <br />SCHEDULED ITEM NO. 2: <br />CONSIDERATION OF PETITION REQUESTING INITIATION OF SEWER ASSESSMENT DISTRICT <br />NO. 6 (vincinity of Almaden Court). <br />City Manager noted the following: <br />1. The petition requesting a sewer assessment district be formed had been <br />presented and certified sufficient by the City Engineer. <br />2. The proposed district would pump to the City of Los Altos and pump <br />maintenance charges would be the obligation of users of the pump, <br />including property in Rosehill Estates Subdivision outside the sewer <br />district boundary. <br />3. Discussions were occurring with City of Palo Alto to eliminate this <br />area from the Palo Alto Drainage Basin and correspondingly eliminate <br />capacity charges to the City of Palo Alto. City Manager stated that <br />this matter would be resolved prior to the Public Hearing to be set <br />by the Council. <br />Council discussion ensued, with Floor participation by A. M. Laws, 11210 <br />Hooper Lane; Alan Lambert, Los Altos; Tony Danluck, 1229 Manet Drive, <br />Sunnyvale; Tom Marshall, 25560 Altamont Road; Mr. E. J. Soares, 750 Newell <br />Road, Palo Alto. <br />Mr. Philip D. Assaf, Bonding Attorney, reviewed proposed standard resolutions <br />initiating the district, Sewer Assessment District No. 6. <br />Resolution No. 574, a Resolution Rescinding Resolutions Nos. 536 and 537, <br />was read. On motion of Councilman Fowle, seconded by Councilman Helgesson <br />and unanimously carried, said Resolution was adopted. <br />Resolution No. 575, a Resolution Determining to Undertake Proceedings <br />Pursuant to Special Assessment and Assessment Bond Acts for the Acquisition <br />and Construction of Improvements Without Proceedings Under Division 4 of <br />the Streets and Highways Code, was read. On motion of Councilman Fowle, <br />seconded by Councilman Helgesson and unanimously carried, said Resolution <br />+� was adopted. <br />-3- <br />
