UNSCHEDULED ITEM N0. 2 cont 'd.: Appointment of Two Members to Planning Commission, <br />4W MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Aiken moved, seconded by Grabowski that <br />nominations be closed and a White Ballot be cast for Messrs. Corbett and Spencer <br />to fill the two Planning Commissioner vacancies for the four year terms expiring <br />May 4, 1971. Motion was carried by the following majority roll call vote. <br />Ayes: Councilmen Aiken, Grabowski, Helgesson, Mayor Benson, <br />Noes: Councilmen Davey. Absent: None. <br />Councilman Davey expressed regrets that Mr. Minckley had not been reappointed. <br />Speaking from the Floor were: Mrs. Diana Miller and Mrs. Florence Fava. <br />Council discussion concurred that letters of appreciation be sent to the outgoing <br />Commissioners, Mr. Minckley and Dawson, for their services to the Town. <br />UNSCHEDULED ITEM NO. 3: <br />CLAIM FOR JOSEPH R. RAMOS <br />City Manager to a claim for $1,445.55 from Mr. Joseph R. Ramos, contractor <br />for S.A.D. or "extra work" had been reviewed by our Engineer and City Attorney. <br />Staff conclu d that the items of cost claimed were specifically excluded from <br />the contract and the responsibility of Mr. Ramos and, therefore, disapproval of <br />the claim was recommended. <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Aiken moved, seconded by Helgesson <br />and it was carried unanimously that the claim from Joseph R. Ramos in the amount <br />of $1,445.55 be denied as recommended by Staff. <br />UNSCHEDULED ITEM NO. 4: <br />REQUEST TO CIRCULATE THE REPORT FROM THE NOISE ARATII-MT]T COMMITTEE. <br />City Manager stated the report had been distributed for the Council's review and <br />permission of the Council was being requested to circulate the report and <br />specifically to have a cover letter prepared for the Mayor's signature to send <br />the report to Mr. James A. Moe, State Director of Public Works. Council <br />discussion evolved around the excellence and comprehensive data contained in the <br />report but until Council could fully review the report, its circulation should <br />be limited. <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Davey moved, seconded by Aiken that the <br />City Council. accept the Noiso ;.hctoront Cowittee-report, dated March 19, 1970, <br />and that the Mayor prepare a cover letter and it be sent to Mr. James A. Moe, <br />but further circulation be withheld pending its approval at the ,Tune , 1970 <br />Council meeting. ' is. <br />Council concurred upon approval, it would be desirable to distribute the report <br />to the surrounding communities. Also Staff was directed to determine the cost <br />of its preparation. <br />UNSCHEDULED ITEM NO. 5: <br />REQUEST FOR A "REFUNDING AGREEMENT" with JAMES T. GARDNER FOR CHRISTOPHER'S <br />LANE AREA. <br />-4- <br />City Manager <br />explained Mr. Gardner had <br />installed <br />a sewer on Christopher's Lane <br />which hooked <br />up to the Palo Alto sewer <br />in Page Mill <br />Road.
