Hogle, 2000 Page Mill Road. <br />461 City Attorney introduced and read in its entirety Ordinance He. 155, an <br />ordinance of the Town of Los Altos Hills fixing the tax rate for the <br />current year (at 25t per $100.00 of assessed valuation). <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Benson moved, seconded by <br />Helgesson, that Ordinance No. 150 be adopted as read, was carried by the <br />following roll call vote: Ayes: Councilmen Benson, Helgesson, Mayor Aiken. <br />Noes: Councilmen Davey, Fowle. Absent: None. <br />City Attorney introduced and read in its entirety Ordinance No. 159, an <br />ordinance of the Town of Los Altos Hills adopting budget and fixing the <br />amount of money to be raised by taxation. <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Benson moved, seconded by <br />Helgesson, that Ordinance No. 159 be adopted as read, was carried by the <br />following roll call vote: Ayes: Councilmen Benson, Helgesson, Mayor Aiken. <br />Noes: Councilmen Davey, Fowle, Absent: None. <br />Councilman Fowle requested to be excused -at 8:12 P: M.. <br />City Attorney introduced and read the title of Ordinance No. 160, an <br />ordinance establishing Class Salary Schedule for the Town of Los Altos <br />Hills for the Fiscal Year 1969-70. <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Benson moved, seconded by <br />Helgesson, that further reading of Ordinance No. 160 be waived, was <br />carried by the following roll call vote: Ayes: Councilmen Benson, Davey, <br />Helgesson, Mayor Aiken. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Fowls. <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Helgesson moved, seconded by <br />Benson, that Ordinance No. 160 be adopted as read, was carried by the <br />following roll call vote: Ayes: Councilmen Benson, Davey, Helgesson, <br />Mayor Aiken. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Fowle. <br />Councilman Davey requested the record show that she voted in opposition <br />to adopting the budget and setting the tax rate, due to budgetary cuts in <br />street maintenance, path maintenance, planning funds, and the lack of any <br />provision for drainage improvements; and, that these deletions were not <br />in the best interest of protecting public or private investments within <br />the Town. <br />Mayor Aiken requested the record show he disagreed with Councilman Davey's <br />figures and conclusions and that it had not been demonstrated that <br />budgetary limitations would be detrimental to the Town. <br />1. Mrs. Lois Hogle, representing Committee for Green Foothills, reviewed <br />petition urging Stanford University and the City of Palo Alto to cease <br />issuing building permits and approving further land divisions for that <br />area bounded by Foothill Expressway, Page Mill and Arastradero Roads, and <br />Junipero Serra Freeway, until the Palo Alto Foothills Study and Los Altos <br />Hills revised General Plan are nearer completion. <br />-2- <br />
